WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Work closely with the Corporate Controller to actively engage in the technical and professional development of staff, including detailed review of work products for identification of improvement opportunities and coaching of all staff levels.
- Review account analysis and reconciliation, including review of complex general ledger accounts.
- Analyze and review journal entries for all staff levels and accounts payable invoices.
- Review complex adjusting journal entries and analyze financial and budget information.
- Assist with the preparation of period-end financial statements and supplemental reports for multiple business units and varying business types.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and accounting standards such as ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 810, and other fixed asset and capitalization guidelines.
- Assist with the annual external audit processes.
- Utilize existing accounting systems to automate processes and reporting where appropriate.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
- CPA Preferred
- 3+ years of professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, or public accounting role.
- Proficiency utilizing financial systems and reporting packages as well as Microsoft Office products.
- Strong and up-to-date technical knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be a team player and possess a good sense of humor.
