WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
  • Responsible for assisting with technical accounting functions for the organization and must demonstrate initiative and technical competence to conduct research and prepare documentation of accounting treatment for various contracts and provide technical accounting guidance and leadership.
  • The focus will include management of technical accounting and new reporting standards, monthly close procedures, production of financial statements and required disclosures in accordance with GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Collaboration with the CFO, Corporate Controller, and Finance to establish and maintain policies/procedures and to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for transactions.
  • Support other day-to-day general accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, cost accounting, inventory, and other general ledger support.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting activities within US GAAP, maintain supporting schedules, and directly support audit documentation and sampling
  • Support other required disclosures - including drafting and reviewing documents, ensuring quality, and administering strict timeline
  • Track known accounting issues and/or material weaknesses, develop mitigation plans, and oversee resolution alongside the Controller, CFO, and 3rd party auditing partner
  • Manage technical accounting execution within FASB/GAAP codification, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and other technical requirements as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of technical memos and other required audit deliverables
  • Execute effective internal control procedures and maintain compliance with SOX requirements

BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA Certification required
  • 5+ years of Public Accounting and progressive industry experience with at least 2 recent years of technical accounting experience
