WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

  • Responsible for managing the strategic and tactical aspects of commercial operational activities.
  • The role entails owning the sales process, measuring and influencing the productivity and effectiveness of the sales organization, leading cross functional and departmental efforts, and driving accountability throughout the company.
  • Provide guidance on all sales and market analytics to influence decisions and track results.
  • Responsible for utilizing Business Intelligence (BI) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools as well as analytics (e.g., AI platforms), they anticipate and identify commercial trends (leading indicators) and ensure consistent use of sales process and tools
  • Drive sales effectiveness initiatives with the various teams maximizing sales and overall productivity (initiatives, projects, process & systems)
  • Work with sales leadership and other leaders to develop and gain commitment on commercial objectives and strategy
  • Provide meaningful analysis of pipeline, client, and margin health to make recommendations to drive results
  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of the sales organization and provide insights into sales productivity and customer / market penetration
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate competitor and supplier data
  • Lead projects and initiatives as required for broad execution across the commercial team and assume appropriate roles to ensure successful completion of the projects and initiatives

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years overall experience working in a global sales operations function including business analytics capacity
  • Proven ability to work effectively within complex decision making and organizational structures
  • Experience in sales or sales management:
  • Demonstrated success being a sales system champion, ensuring adoption of the system and supporting analytics
  • At least ten years of outside sales and/or sales operations or administration experience
  • Experience with consultative, technical sales processes and long-cycle sales processes
  • Experience with business-to-business sales
  • Experience with one or more leading CRM tools / applications
