WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

  • Oversee all financial requirements of the organization, either personally or through supervision and direction of reporting staff to ensure accurate and timely performance of all accounting functions.
  • Key member of the senior leadership team responsible for process improvement initiatives to create efficiencies, enhance controls, promote corporate governance, and provide visibility into the business operations.
  • Collaborates with the leadership team to develop and implement the organization's short and long-term strategic plans.
  • Coordinates financial reporting activities of accounting, materials, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory, and scheduling to effect operational efficiency, economy and maximize profits; reviews analyzes and interprets all financial and budget reports.
  • Analyzes division or department budget requests to identify areas of cost reduction.
  • Responsible for P&L roll-up of all operating units; provides financial analysis and planning, budget control, accounting methods and profit and loss reporting.
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities, including budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
  • Responsible for capital justification, forecasts, and cost accounting.
  • Directs and oversees activities to ensure operational compliance with all financial legal requirements.
  • Responsible for monthly and quarter-ending accounting closes and financial statements in accordance with GAAP & IFRS.
  • Responsible for overseeing the preparation and filing of all business tax requirements, including returns and audits.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities for subordinates, including training, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewards and disciplines.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring policy compliance.
  • Accountable for treasury management which requires diligent monitoring of cash flows, account balances and coordination with banking partners.(both cash and credit accounts)
  • Reviews financial and capital expenditure decisions to assess profitability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Understands all of the company’s liabilities, including legal contracts and statutory & tax obligations. Provides insurance coverage as required and ensures the maintenance of appropriate financial records.
  • Approves all agreements concerning financial obligations, such as contracts for raw materials, IT assets, and services, real estate, contracts, leases, and other actions requiring a commitment of financial resources.
  • Ensures that the company has appropriate IT systems in place, including ERP software that integrates various business functions into one complete system to streamline processes and information across the entire organization.
  • Translates the company’s operational metrics into measures of performance using tools like balanced scorecards, dashboards, and financial statement ratio analysis. Provides executive team with dashboards and KPIs that provide timely and actionable information on performance.
  • Monitors banking activities of the organization.

 

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Master’s Degree and/or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of accounting and supervisory experience ideally in an international manufacturing environment
  • Financial Planning & Analysis, and budget process experience are required
  • Experienced in Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP & IFRS
  • Proficient in MS Excel and strong understanding of large ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, etc.
  • Strong technical accounting experience desired
  • Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal communications skills with the ability to manage, direct, lead and coordinate others.
  • Possess solid organizational and analytical abilities that allow for multiple project leadership, mentoring and decision making.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contracts, negotiating and change management.
  • Ability to link vision and strategy with overall business objectives and communicate rational using data-driven information in a compelling and concise manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills.
