WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
Reporting to the CFO, oversees the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions of the company, which include cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, and balance sheet management. Lead and develop a team of 10+ accounting staff (including Controller).
Provides technical accounting GAAP guidance and support. At times, this may include involvement in due diligence and other activities surrounding M&A.
Responsible for proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules.
Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.
Coordinates work relating to external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.
Ensures that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above. Responsible for continued development and retention of these associates.
Expected to manage the accounting department towards efficient and value-added processes and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
10+ years of accounting experience and prior leadership experience
Big Four or large Regional accounting firm experience preferred
Master’s degree in Accounting and/or CPA preferred
Prior experience in private equity and M&A growth environment
Experience working with complex debt and capitalization structures
Strong understanding of accounting for lease transactions in accordance with ASC 842
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience with large ERP systems (i.e. SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or Sage)
