WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
  • Service Strategy:  Assess the service provider's offerings, capabilities, competitors as well as current and potential market spaces in order to develop a strategy and design; Support budgeting, accounting integration into Telecom Expense Management; Build business case and project scoping.
  • Engineer Design: Coordinate all service design activities, processes and resources; Service Level Agreement (SLA) decomposition and definition. Incorporate SLAs into solution design; Define, analyze, plan, measure and improve all aspects of the availability, capacity, DR, and performance of services; Acquire and comply with all Cyber, Compliance, and Vendor Management controls; Document and manage process for High Level and Low-Level engineering designs.
  • Operations Readiness:  Document and implement all Service Management and testing requirements; Document Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and Knowledge Base info; Implement Alerting and Reporting capabilities; Define Access Management in compliance with Cyber IAM controls.
  • Identify, design and implement flexible, responsive, and secure technology services
  • Research and evaluate infrastructure strategies, hardware/software, security and networking products
  • Advise management of options, risk vs. cost, benefits and other impacts of infrastructure solutions
  • Set technical standards for network infrastructure, security baselines, policies and procedures
  • Develop and document infrastructure support policies and guidelines
  • Monitor trends and recommend future architecture strategies and roadmaps
  • Educate and mentor IT support staff as needed, including requisite training on  technology and governance
  • Research and stay current on Infrastructure best practices and function as a subject matter expert in this area
  • Work with outsource vendor to drive sound architectures, engineering designs, and configuration templates
  • Engage in complex production impacting technical issues and work to troubleshoot and restore service
  • Develop and Publish Return On Investment (ROI) analysis and support Business Case development
  • Define Application Sizing Effort (Appliances, Infrastructure, Desktop, and Services)

  • Project Cost Estimates (Headcount, Statement Of Work development, Equipment and Service contract cost, maintenance, licenses, subscriptions)

  • SDLC Submissions and Reviews (Demand Intake documentation, Architecture/Cyber/Cloud committee approvals)
  • Produce high quality documentation (e.g,. Tech Design and Integration Docs, Baseline configuration, SOPs)
  • Operational Handoff Knowledge Transfer (Playbook for ITIL Ops functional areas)
  • End User endpoint test and integration (Device-specific, Desktop/VDI, Mobile BYOD/MDM)
  • Adjunct Service Design (e.g., E911, call recording, call detail records)
  • Network Integration Specification (BW/QoS, COS, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Cyber Assessment, Configurations, and Support Activities (Encryption, Certificates, External Support Acccess Connectivity, IAM/Service Accts, DLP, Vulnerability Scans, Attack Threat PENTEST)

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
Required Skills:
  • Preferred Certifications: Zoom Phone, Avaya solutions
  • Preferred Certifications: DevOps development with Power Automate, Power BI, Ansible.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related relevant experience
  • Required Skill sets: AT&T VoIP, Zoom Phone and Avaya VOIP and ACD, Call Routing, Voice network support services: QoS, DHCP, DNS, 802.1x, SIP/CTI integration to 3rd party systems IPC Networking Sevices, Oracle SBC, AudioCodes SBC, carrier VoIP and IP Toll Free configuration and troubleshooting
  • 5+ years working experience with a broad range of hardware, networking and telephony solutions.
