WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Manage tax processes – Income, Franchise, Sales, Property – acting as primary owner of these functions
Coordinate tax return and provision preparation with external provider
Organize compliance records and calendar; maintain tax workpapers throughout the year.
Lead special tax projects such as R&D tax credits and 382 limitation study.
Communicate with and respond to tax authorities for federal, state, sales tax and property taxes
Help identify and implement tax strategies to simplify tax situation, for example merging/liquidating entities, conversion to LLC, thereby working to reduce compliance cost and effort.
Reconcile sales and income tax accounts, book monthly entries, make payments.
Maintain sales tax system and work with business to track product evolution and obtain other inputs
Draft financial statement disclosure for tax and assist in other areas of quarterly reporting
Be a resource for Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting during reporting and earnings cycles and transactions both for tax related matters but also as extra capacity for review, tie out and documentation
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:
Licensed CPA
Prior experience as a tax manager or senior manager at a company and experience at CPA firm
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
Desire to take ownership of tax processes
Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines; ability to prioritize and work independently
Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy
Self-starter, ability to accomplish goals independently
