Principal Expectations:

  • Own the technical support for the lower-level environments; collaborates with developers to proactively address weaknesses and opportunities
  • Track issues, ensures resolution at the appropriate level. Receives and resolves issues escalated from developers, testers, and business partners
  • Interact with testers, developers, delivery managers, and senior technical engineering managers to sequence projects for testing on a limited number of testing environments.
  • Manage the coordination of efforts to configure environments for incoming strategic initiatives and tracking the status of environment configuration activities.
  • Communicate test environment availability to impacted stakeholders
  • Develop KPIs to track efficacy of test environment delivery efforts
  • Monitor and track uptime of test environments
  • Create short-term plans to deliver environments to support sprint-based development
  • Support dev teams in moving test environment activities toward a goal of 100% automation
  • Look for trends across multiple related bugs or issues to capture as recommendations for improvement
  • Establish yourself as a domain expert for environments

Mandatory Skills:

  • Ability to quickly triage active web systems and identify the root-cause from browser to server
  • Build and influence relationships with LOB stakeholders and development teams
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Panning, and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
  • Ability to keep things confidential and professionally communicate with others
  • Development, QA, and Product teams advanced scripting skills (around automation, log rotation, data collection, error collection, and alerting)
  • Jira and Confluence management experience
