WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

  • Collaborate with Accounting Manager, CFO, and accounting team during monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for prepaids, advance payments, fixed assets, customer deposits, accrued expenses and other assigned accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries for allocations, chargebacks, and capitalizations.
  • Responsible for filing monthly Sales Tax returns for 25+ states. Will also coordinate registration in several additional states and handle the implementation of new states. 
  • Manage fixed assets accounting.
  • Responsible for invoicing of products. This includes processing advance installment invoices, applying payments, verifying accuracy of sales price, terms, charges, and inventory item codes.
  • Liaison between Accounting Department and Sales Administration Department.
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Calculate sales commissions 
  • Work with outside accounting firm on corporate income tax administration. This includes making the quarterly estimated tax payments and following up on tax notices.
  • File annual property tax returns in 2 jurisdictions.
  • Assist the CFO with various special projects and account analyses
  • Other Accounting and Administrative duties as requested

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (willing to consider an Associates degree with substantial relevant experience)
  • 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience required
  • Oracle or other ERP software experience preferred
  • Prefer someone with experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Looking for someone with a keen attention to detail, good organizational skills, ability keep information confidential, to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
