Maintain a deep understanding of California payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance with state-specific requirements.
Calculate and process various payroll elements, including regular wages, overtime, commissions, bonuses, benefits, and deductions, while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Perform audits and reviews of payroll data to identify discrepancies and rectify issues before processing.
Generate payroll reports for management, finance, and other stakeholders as needed, providing insights into labor costs, trends, and variances.
Manage and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, addressing concerns and providing clear and helpful explanations.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, changes in payroll regulations, and best practices to continuously improve payroll processes.
Lead and mentor a payroll team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
5+of progressive experience in payroll management, with a demonstrated history of overseeing multi-site payroll operations.
Proficiency in California payroll regulations and laws, ensuring compliance with complex state requirements.
Strong understanding of different payroll frequencies, including weekly, biweekly, and semi-monthly cycles.
Experience with payroll software systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
