WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, costs, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Summarize and prepare financial status and transaction reports, including the profit and loss, balance sheet, and other statements.
Completes external audit by analyzing, reconciling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors timely and accurately.
Play a vital part in the company’s financial management; maintaining general ledgers by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing trial balances, reconciling entries, and providing reports to necessary parties with a need to know.
Ensure internal controls by create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures for the company.
Guide junior accountants and other team members by answering questions and coordinating information sharing and learning sessions
Understand and comply with federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, tax compliance, state business registration, tax filings, contract reviews and interpret any new and existing legislation impacting the company.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Masters preferred
3-5 years of public accounting experience in a large firm
2+ years’ experience in industry, preferably a manufacturing environment
Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas, intercompany transactions and reconciliations in preparation for audit.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures including preparing month-end reporting and financial forecasts
US GAAP/IFRS rules
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as IFS, JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, etc.
The ability to support all other departments within the company and coordinate cross-functional projects and information sharing sessions
