Senior Staff Accountant – Cost in Charlotte, North Carolina

WHERE THIS POSITION IS LOCATED:
Matthews, NC – On site
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Ensure accuracy of financial entries and controls for financial consolidation and reporting
Knowledge of GAAP standards, manufacturing cost accounting, and intercompany transactions
Identify and correct inconsistencies in financials
Manage inventory and costing, reconciling perpetual inventory reports with the general ledger
Analyze and resolve inventory-related variances on a monthly basis
Establish and analyze product costs, bills of materials, standard costing, absorption variance analysis, and obsolescence reserves
Own the financial close process for subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy of transactions and reports
Handle translation, elimination, and foreign currency transactions with integrity and completeness
Engage with annual audits and business planning process
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Drive process improvements for efficiency while maintaining accounting policies and controls
Timely and accurate preparation of journal entries and accruals with proper documentation
Collaborate on special projects and initiatives as needed by operational needs
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Degree in Accounting
5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing industry with exposure to international entity elimination and consolidation processes
Microsoft Dynamics D365 F&O experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing costing
Effective priority management with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Ability to interpret laws and regulations, identifying requirements and related controls.
