WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT: 
  • Perform accurate unit cost and quantity takeoffs to estimate project costs.
  • Develop and maintain a cost accounting system to track project expenses and ensure budget adherence.
  • Manage procurement activities, including sourcing materials and negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best pricing and terms.
  • Oversee the expediting process to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the construction site.
  • Maintain document control procedures to ensure accurate record-keeping and efficient retrieval of project-related information.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide cost analysis and recommendations.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and identify areas for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project cost performance to management.
 
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of unit cost and quantity takeoff methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with procurement management and expediting processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, accounting, or a related field.
