WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
Responsible for contract lifecycle management process
Identify & implement tools to support contract and procurement activities
Establish contract management strategy
Identify value improvement opportunities, delivery issues and risks
Oversee the procurement work performed by contractors
Document and communicate contractual issues and challenges
Lead procurement process including development of bid list and detailed work scopes for all existing and new contracts
Negotiate terms and conditions with proposed suppliers, including price, schedule, quality, etc.
Work with suppliers to obtain regular status updates on goods that are being shipped, fabricated, or procured by others.
Develop bid evaluation models and lead bid evaluation review
Perform independent cost assessment in support of acquisition activities
Determine preferred vendor capability and performance profile
Ensure contract compliance and monitoring of contractors’ performance with procurement activities
Review contractor warranties, bonds, insurance, guarantees, etc. and ensure they are maintained in accordance with the contract throughout the project life cycle.
Coordinate communications between contract users and contractors, (monthly reports, contract meetings, etc.) where applicable.
Lead/co-ordinate/support resolution of contractor claims and issues.
Develop/implement contract close-out procedures to ensure that all terms and conditions of contracts have been complied with prior to final payment.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Minimum of 8 years relevant experience, with at least 4 years in leadership role
Worked on capital project with TIC of $500 million USD or above
Strong communication skills
Previous experience working with US government contracting or DOE projects is a plus
Good planning skills and strong attention to detail
Strong knowledge of the industry and market conditions
