WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Python Developer position is part of a team that is responsible for multiple applications that support the investment activities of the banking platform. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Python development within a proprietary application that supports Capital Markets trading activities
  • Collaborates with other developers and provides significant contributions to develop specifications to resolve business client questions, problems, and to address improvement needs
  • Recommendation of standard methodologies for development and application support
  • Technical design along with definition for technology changes
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide and acquire information and to build consensus regarding project direction
  • Technical analysis of interfaces, files, databases and reports
  • Heavy client engagement
  • Mentoring of other lower level Python development staff
  • Creation of technical specifications
  • System/application configuration
  • Application support
  • Uses technical knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to acquire solutions to sophisticated problems.
  • Interacts directly with business clients.

 

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

  • 5+ years of programming experience
  • 3+ years of Python 3.x development experience
  • 2+ years development experience using other languages such as .Net, Java
  • Intermediate SQL development skills
  • Intermediate level knowledge and experience with Agile, SCRUM, Kanban or other SDLC methodologies and/or principles
  • Strong object-oriented development skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance, Investment Management, Capital Markets and Banking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg OMS products, data or APIs
  • Ability to communicate optimally with development staff and team
  • Strong analytical skills
