WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
Ensure tax withholding, payments, tax returns, and W-2 reporting is handled accurately and on time.
Work with State and Local agencies to set-up new State and Local tax jurisdictions.
Monitor state unemployment tax accounts, payments, and tax returns for all 50 states, to ensure taxes are accurate and are paid and filed on time
Responsible for the accurate and timely filing of agency notices by implementing a strong governance and audit model with our payroll vendor.
Respond to and resolve any employee issues, tax notices or tax audits.
Maintain accurate accounting reporting related to funding of payroll tax liabilities.
Monitor changes to tax regulations and ensure compliance for payroll tax withholding and payments.
Review and audit payroll tax set up with payroll system.
Implement, review, and maintain payroll tax processing procedures.
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED
Bachelor’s degree
Not less than 7 years of relevant experience in US payroll tax.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience. CPP optional
Payroll tax experience to include mergers/acquisitions.
Strong analytical, accounting, and research skills.
Solid knowledge of tax compliance and procedures.
Proficient knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
