WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Solution Trains using various tools, such as the Solution Kanbans.
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Solution Backlogs, Solution Kanbans, Solution Trains, Solution Demos, and Program Increments (PIs).
  • Facilitate Solution Planning and PI Planning readiness via fostering the preparation of Vision and Backlogs, and via Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.
  • Aggregate into Solution PI Objectives, Program PI Objectives, and Team PI Objectives (and publish them for visibility and transparency).
  • Aggregate program PI objectives into Solution PI Objectives (the STE) and publish them for visibility and transparency.
  • Assist with execution and Capability and Capability-Enablers completion tracking.
  • Coordinate with the ePMO to align on common approaches to project and portfolio management.
  • Help manage risks and dependencies.
  • Escalate and track impediments.
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle.
  • Report status to Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) and support related activities.
  • Understand and operate within Lean Budgets.
  • Facilitate Solution Demos and System Demos.
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the Solution Train, Agile Release Train, and Agile Teams help improve lean and agile thinking.
  • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-in Quality practices.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in the business units and group functions to gather, document, and validate business requirements for new technology projects & programs.
  • Work with the executive team to ensure process owners are in place for all business processes.
  • Maintain and track large program plans to ensure inter-dependencies between projects and programs are well managed.
  • Ensure the optimal methodology (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid) is utilized for each project in the Portfolio.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences, or related field from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • 5+ years in a Portfolio/Program management position
  • Strong knowledge of both Agile methodologies.
  • Experience managing a large portfolio of interdependent IT projects.
  • Previous experience analyzing and documenting complex business processes.
  • Partnering skills by building effective relationships with business leaders along with the ability to deliver executive-level presentations, briefings, and summaries.
  • Strong organization and planning skills with very high attention to detail.
  • Ability to research, analyze, make recommendations, and evaluate technical requirements, functions, processes, and code to improve software development
