  • Identifies and analyzes business needs, conducts requirement gathering, and defines scope and objectives of each project.
  • Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology.
  • Translates business requirements into application requirements, and works with all members of the team to execute the application successfully.
  • Engages client teams and explains moderately complex initiatives in an understandable manner, while also addressing any hesitations or concerns from the client.
  • Estimates the costs of various system solutions and prepares project plans to provide input into decisions about prioritizing projects and allocating IT resources.
  • Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
Required Skills:
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business or Finance with at least 2 to 4 years of experience in investment management or financial services operations 
  • Must possess a working knowledge of investment instruments, i.e., Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, Securities Lending, etc.
  • Ideally have general understanding of securities processes, i.e., Corporate Actions, Trade Operations/Settlements, and Reconciliation
  • Solid problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures
  • Detail oriented and extremely thorough – having the confidence to ensure work processes are completed accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite of products (particularly Excel)
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Desire to drive process improvement initiatives within the business to gain efficiencies and reduce costs as well as mitigating risk
  • Customer service skills are essential
