WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT

  • Lead and direct the accounting team with strong leadership capabilities and solid operational and technical accounting background
  • Full GL management including the accurate and timely posting of all transactions, including journal entries
  • Produce timely accounting reports, including full financial statement packages, analyses and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyze financial information, data, and trends, and provide recommendations to the Senior Director of Finance and Accounting/Controller
  • Management of full month-end and year-end close process
  • Balance sheet and P&L account analysis
  • Reconciliations of cash, BS, P&L on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Establish and maintain adherence to internal controls
  • Accounting liaison with rest of organization
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable functions & co-manage the Concur expense reporting system
  • Maintain an A/R collections process and ensure entries associated with Sales / credits booked properly
  • Facilitates accounting staff recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of employees.
  • Sets expectations by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job performance.
  • Maintain supporting schedules and reports related to amortization, accruals, and related recurring accounting activities.
  • Makes timely and well-informed decisions that advance critical priorities, capitalize on new opportunities, and resolve problems.

 

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or Master’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years of general ledger, financial analysis, and reporting accounting experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a management capacity
  • Experience using Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP
  • Proficiency in Excel to analyze data, format, filter, summarize and combine data from multiple sources.
  • Strong analytical background required and attention to detail
