WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
Development and Implementation of AMR Regional Health, Safety, Security & Environmental strategy, and standards in support of the Group Health, Safety & Environmental and Group Security strategies.
Work with the BUs to identify and control high risk operations. Share these controls within in the region and broader to assist in controlling similar risks at other locations.
Lead / Assist in the investigation of serious incidents and the development of corrective actions. Verify the completion and effectiveness of actions.
Development and implementation of the regional SS&E behavioral change program;
Oversees site-level operation of security systems and timely completion of projects and tasks.
Ensure compliance with security procedures, standards, policies, and best practices
Mentoring and support of the BU leadership at all levels, with a focus on HSSE teams;
Mentoring of the regional senior management in the leadership of HSSE.
Trending of sites HSSE performance to identify performance patterns and development of regional improvement action plans or projects;
Verifying sites compliance against the minimum global requirements for HSSE
Verifying all regionally submitted HSSE data and quality checking for accuracy of results;
Identifying best practice SS&E opportunities external to the industry and evaluating potential implementation of opportunities;
Providing timely regional input to shape and evolve the global strategy for HSSE. Represent the region on Steering Committees and project teams to help develop Global Standards and Reporting processes.
Regional Lean Champion: work with BUs on developing LEAN capabilities, identifying and executing projects and the implementation of LEAN.
Manage Crisis Management and Business Continuity processes for the Region, including development and exercise of crisis management plans at both the Regional and BU level.
Support the Sustainability Strategy by assisting the BUs in developing environmental projects / events that promote Ocean Enhancement and the education of local communities. Mentor for the MentorHer and WomenLead programs. Actively identify and recruit talent to participate in these programs.
Liaison with Global Ops/Engineering and the BUs to develop Co2 Reductions strategies to assist in achieving Net Zero Carbon Strategy.
Review BU Business Risk profiles and develop controls to address critical BU risks.
Work with Global Risk and the BUs on addressing open actions / recommendations from Property Risk reviews.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Formal HSE qualification to Diploma / Degree level for example: NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and or NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management;
Minimum 10 years’ practical experience as an HSSE Director or BU HSSE Manager;
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in heavy industrial environments;
Experience in leading critical incident investigations including fatalities,
Experience in the development and management of corrective action plans and projects,
Experience in liaising with government, regulatory, industry and labour organizations,
Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels within the organization and lead / mentor workgroups and individuals;
