LOCATION

  • DETROIT, MI or CHARLOTTE, NC- 100% remote for now, then will sit hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remotely) when staff transitions back into the office after January/February

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Finance Technology Director will serve as a key member of the leadership team focused on the selection and technical delivery of a modern General Ledger/Finance system to replace current ERP. This role will partner with business and technology teams to understand the business objectives and the required technology capabilities; articulate and communicate the project vision and objectives throughout the technology organization to build and maintain alignment of resources and priorities; identify and manage dependencies, risks and issues across multiple teams and technology domains; and maintain a holistic view of program activities to keep the full technology organization driving towards success. This role will also be a key resource in all phases of the implementation including and not limited to Current State Process Design, Chart of Accounts Design, End to End Process Mapping, RFP, Cross Functional and Organizational impact, Data Conversion and Archiving Strategy, Architectural and Integration Design, Implementation, Non-Functional Testing, Hypercare/Warranty, Change Management and Operational Model.

  • Collaborates closely with the CFO organization to analyze the current state of processes and systems, then use that information, along with business strategies and technology strategy to formulate future state processes and system design.
  • Directly accountable for the technical elements and aspects of project deliverables.
  • Provides direction and oversight of agile squad(s) to design, develop, deploy, and sustain solutions that meet applicable business requirements.
  • Responsible for resolving issues and mitigating risks, escalating issues/risks when appropriate.
  • Manages teams, which may include Ally employee and/or vendor team members, informs the team of its progress; leads/develops Ally staff members.
  • Acts as team's interface to IT and Business Partners; develops/maintains strong relationship with vendor teams and vendor management.

 

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field of study preferred
  • 7+ years of experience delivery in the technology sector
  • 7+ years’ experience delivering and/or supporting CFO technology
  • Experience implementing ERP solutions required
  • Workday Finance, Oracle Financials, SAP S/4 Hana Finance or similar platform experience a plus
  • Ability to influence change across a matrix organization and collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver solutions
  • Proven ability to manage outsourced development and shared resources/teams
  • Customer Focus -- proven track record of customer satisfaction and delivery success and ability to establish and maintain appropriate relationships with business and IT stakeholders
  • Consulting/Problem Solving -- ability to work in an advisory capacity to identify key technical and business problems, develop and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations
  • Systems Delivery -- extensive experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle. Including architecture design.
  • Technical Project Management – strong familiarity with project management including project planning and estimating, risk management, project budgeting, staffing, change control, and status reporting
