WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
  • Define epics that align with business objectives and have well-defined scope, benefit hypothesis, and success criteria to drive outcomes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the epic is developed and delivered on time and in budget
  • Review epics and capabilities to ensure they are properly set-up in agile tools
  • Manage epics to monitor progress through the Portfolio Kanban Process from the reviewing step to implementation and completion
  • Manage the epic backlog and prioritize items based on the stakeholder's needs, business value, and technical feasibility
  • Ensure the team is focused on the most important items and that the backlog is kept up-to-date Coordinate with Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to help define an approved epic’s capabilities at the solution level so teams can further prioritize the work in the form of features and stories. This will be completed by working closely with stakeholders, including business owners, product owners, and users, to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and ensure that the epic is delivering the expected value
  • Communicate the epic's progress, challenges, and success to stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Ensure the team is aware of changes in priorities, timelines, and expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the epic's development and delivery
  • Work with stakeholders to understand potential risks and develop plans to address them
  • Participate in regular cadences including the monthly portfolio sync, monthly cross-portfolio sync, and continuous backlog refinement sessions to foster a collaborative culture and work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve the epic's goals, encouraging open communication, constructive feedback, and a focus on results
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
Required Skills:
  • Financial services industry experience preferred
  • 5+ years of previous experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to challenge ideas and interface with other teams within the business
  • Business leadership experience with the ability to work in a multi-matrix environment
