WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Provides leadership with guidance on EHS needs and ensures all North American businesses fulfill industry, local, state, and federal EHS guidelines and regulations.
  • Recommends, implements, and maintains comprehensive EHS programs across all North American businesses.
  • Develops and implements site inspection policies and procedures as well as a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Conducts periodic inspections of company facilities to identify EHS risks and/or non-compliance with applicable EHS regulations. Recommends, assists in the implementation of, and follows up on corrective measures. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondences.
  • Analyzes EHS training needs, identifies gaps, and recommends solutions. Facilitates and executes custom and specific training programs focused on gaps and continued needs.
  • Plans, implements, and conducts EHS training.
  • Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for accident and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
  • Monitors compliance with EHS procedures, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and best practices.
  • Ensures that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and readily accessible when needed

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field; 5+ years multi-state, management-level EHS experience in relevant industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency with MS Windows OS and MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant EHS regulations
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to assess risk, analyze data, and identify solutions
