LOCATION:
Charlotte, NC
Willing to consider remote candidates in the state of NC/SC - travel to Charlotte 1-2 times per week required
WHY THE ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
Oversee the management and construction of all development projects
Lead and manage a small team of Project Managers
Perform accurate, thorough quantity takeoffs for all levels of construction (site development, civil and road work, architectural and full MEP)
Work with Construction PMs to onboard new development partners.
Work closely with Real Estate team during site selection to evaluate development cost and site viability
Assist build to suit partners in reviewing bids and site development documentation.
Develop accurate and concise clarifications and assumptions for all projects with Construction PM’s management team’s assistance, with the goal of lowering overall buildout costs.
Work with design consultants to track and submit necessary construction documentation for all permitting (Civil, DOT, Building, Historical Boards, etc.).
Work with PMs to obtains clarification on plans and specifications from architects and engineers when necessary.
Solicit and analyzing subcontractor and vendor pricing input when required.
Perform technical plan review for all projects.
Develop knowledge in building designs, systems and construction materials through available resources.
Constantly strive to improve individual capabilities, performance and expand knowledge of construction technologies and techniques.
Build effective relationships with internal support center team, design consultants, subcontractors and suppliers that reflect and support the company’s core values and exceeds expectations.
Work with equipment provider on ensuring the correct layout and equipment packages for each site.
Provide support to Real Estate Approval meetings for review of proposed sites.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
8+ years of accomplished retail construction and store development experience (ground-up construction)
2+ years of team management experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field strongly preferred
Successful track record for completion of multi-million-dollar projects on budget and within projected timelines.
Demonstrate leadership and adaptability when facing unique challenges encountered on each project.
Experience and ease in interfacing with Senior Management.
Very strong written, spoken and presentation communication skills.
Strong meeting organization and facilitation skills.
Team player with ability to handle strong personalities at all levels of the company.
Technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project as well as industry standard project management tools.
