WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
The Director of Category Operations will be responsible for refining and executing the company's’ direct product sales strategy to its franchisees, corporate locations, and affiliated independent locations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the company's e-commerce platform, currently supplying paint, associated products, and engine oil/oil-related products to over 1000 locations, including:
- Pricing strategy and implementation
- Customer experience improvement
- Growth initiatives, including increasing share of wallet and new customer acquisition (i.e., converting existing and new franchisees from local/other suppliers to use of the company's e-commerce)
- Coordinate with IT and e-commerce vendors to address technical issues or improvements with the e-commerce platform
- Lead the Inventory Sales customer service team, responding to order issues and coordinating on immediate issues with the procurement team and vendors
- Exploration and testing of additional product categories and potential new selling channels to increase the company's product revenue
- Coordination with Procurement on product assortment, promotion, and product margin
- Develop reporting and KPIs on sales, margin, and other relevant metrics to drive performance of the department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree in quantitative or commercially based discipline preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in category management, e-commerce, or other related field.
- Strong analytical skills required.
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required, technical experience with e-commerce platforms, large databases and ERPs preferred.
- Experience building and managing a team preferred.
- Business-savvy, creative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Ownership mentality, desire to learn, work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to identify and assess issues and provide sound recommendations consistent with good business practices.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
