Oversee the company's benefits programs including health, welfare, and retirement programs, ensuring compliance and cost competitiveness
Own annual benefits enrollment process, including developing communication materials, ensuring all resources are fulfilling their duties, analysis of benefit rates, including administration and communication plans
Implement effective and sustainable communication strategies to drive employee awareness and understanding of benefit programs and total rewards across all channels
Establish and measure key benefit program metrics, compensation factors and total reward programs and perks
Research and bring in-depth understanding of external best-practices and innovative trends, including regular benchmarking and participation in benefit surveys to ensure market competitiveness
Responsible for the development and maintenance of all total rewards-related knowledge base content, policies, program, and procedures
Support HRBP's and staff in handling highly confidential issues and escalated inquiries to provide clear resolution and minimize legal risk
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations for assigned benefit plans and that appropriate policies are in place. Make recommendations as needed.
Oversee preparation and filing of periodic regulatory reports such as Forms 1094, 1095-C and 5500, all annual benefits and 401K testing, and compliance and any other filings required by ACA, COBRA, ERISA and other applicable laws related benefit plans
Oversee preparation and distribution of mandatory notices and disclosures such as summary plan descriptions and summary of material modifications required by ACA, COBRA, ERISA and other laws related to benefit plans
Lead employee-wide benefits meetings, educational sessions, orientation and/or onboarding session
Review monthly billings and invoices from vendors for accuracy and ensure timely payment.
Assist with reviewing and monitoring plans and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Assist HR team with administering, processing and maintaining leaves in accordance with FMLA, LOA, Military Leave
Work on special projects as assigned and other duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
5+ years' Benefits Administration experience
Expert understanding of self-insured and fully insured Health and Welfare Benefit Plans, Ancillary, Retirement Plans, and the accompanying laws and regulations associated with each
Knowledge of national health care policies, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA and associated reporting requirements
Demonstrated success in supporting diverse teams in a fast-paced, agile business environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to write or speak about complicated benefit issues in small and large groups
Strong attention to detail, organization and the highest standards for accuracy and precision
Ability to strike a balance between project and program management and day to day execution and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
Experience with HRIS software a plus
Experience administering benefits internationally a plus
