WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
- Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting
- Process payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card management and reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and reporting
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and assess any changes necessary
- Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting
- Update and implement all necessary business policies, financial controls and accounting practices; improve the finance department's overall policy and procedure manual
- Effectively communicate and present financial matters to the leadership
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
- At least 10 years of experience, including previous management responsibility
- Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting but generally prefer applicants who also have earned a master's degree in business administration (MBA) or certification such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA)
