WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

  • Collaborating with the Design System Architect to take instances of component designs to stress-test them and tune them for reuse.
  • Reviewing projects with product and project designers to make sure designs are conforming to standards, alerting the DSM team to new uses for existing components, or ways that combining components may stress component designs.
  • Participating in a collaborative process to create component designs
  • Executing a plan to migrate all current digital products into one design system, themed and nuanced appropriately for each audience (B2C, B2B, and internal)

 

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • 5 – 7 years’ experience as a visual designer, interaction designer, or project design lead. Design operations experience are a plus.
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills are a given; in addition, you have a unique ability to succinctly tell the story of your design – its business and user context, goals, hypotheses, and the rationale behind your design decisions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Expert knowledge of Sketch and InVision’s suite of tools.
  • Familiarity with Figma and Miro.
  • A working knowledge of front-end development.
  • Experience creating, contributing to, or working within a design system, and a deep curiosity about how to structure design systems for effective governance.
