WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

This position will analyze the mortgage servicing portfolio to identify foreclosure delays that exceed investor, state, and company guidelines. This individual will also work closely with attorney firms, internal and other external counterparts to ensure that functional processes are completed. Responsibilities will also include handling specialized reporting to maintain regulatory requirements and investor/insurer guidelines. In addition, this individual will also refute losses, penalty or repurchase rebuttals with investors, MI companies, attorneys and other vendors to avoid losses.

Working knowledgeable of investor, insurer and regulatory requirements as well as jurisdictional requirements for judicial and non-judicial foreclosure actions

  • Communicate with attorney firms on daily basis to facilitate the completion of scheduled foreclosure milestones
  • Work with attorney firms to resolve issues where additional information or documentation is needed
  • Communicate with investors or insurers for process recommendations, approvals, resolutions, etc. Complete and scrutinize all timeline management reporting on loans active in foreclosure to assess process delays; ensure appropriate investor/insurer reporting has occurred on justified delays; escalate exceptions to clear unwarranted delays; and notify attorney firm or other vendors of culpability or loss demands. proceedings and maintain exception reporting
  • Complete bidding instructions; calculate VA buydowns, and other documents to support the foreclosure action in accordance with regulatory, investor and insurer guidelines.
  • Validate consumer impact and regulatory requirements for certain components that occur during foreclosure activity (e.g., credit reporting, IRS reporting, loss mitigation initiatives, bankruptcy filing, etc.
  • Review all foreclosure actions daily/weekly/monthly to ensure processes, issues, etc. are completed timely and within investor, insurer and regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure accounts are properly documented with actions taken, correspondence, and explanation of controllable vs non controllable delays
  • Review and approve exception processes or expenses related to foreclosure actions
  • Report all foreclosure sale results and complete all post sale functions in accordance with regulatory, investor and insurer requirements
  • Update various systems and ensure information is accurate, complete, and accessible.
  •  Perform periodic analyses and review of data.  Investigate exceptions and audit citing's
  • Research and/or prepare documentation or analyze requests in accordance with established guidelines and determine the appropriate course of action
  • Assist management in regulatory implementation, notices and requirements
  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the business unit's operational processes and the implications of other groups that function within the operations         
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the department processes and procedures with the ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Adhere to company and department policies and procedures, as well as direction from management
  • Follow established company guidelines to gain revenue and reduce losses
  • Facilitate conference calls with attorneys and investors to discuss loan statuses.
  • Review tasks and follow ups daily to ensure they are completed within company timeframes
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management
  • Provide new-hire training assistance as needed
  • Assist management with project assignments as needed

 

 

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
