  • Architect, design and implement the data pipeline and business intelligence solutions to the entire organization. 
  • Drive common vision, practices and capabilities across teams to promote optimal use of on premise and cloud data platforms.
  • Collaborate with business and IT partners to define transitional and target state data architectures using a hybrid-cloud model.
  • Capture and publish integrative views of enterprise data at multiple levels of abstraction.
  • Collaborate with the enterprise data team to incorporate modern data governance, metadata management, data quality into our architectural approach.
  • Define, design and document data layers, interfaces, and flows with the understanding of use across the enterprise.
  • Participate and lead in design sessions, demos and workshops with business users and other IT team members.
  • Assist Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for new product capabilities, through continuous integration and delivery.
  • Liaise with a global team for resolving technical dependencies, issues and risks.
  • Build a metadata repository to structure the data for better management and efficient access.
  • Conduct data sheering to clean old or unused data.
  • Contribute in a variety of roles from mentorship, systems analysis, technical architecture, design, configuration, testing, debugging to documentation.
  • Serve as an expert resource on matters of data architecture to business and IT staff in all phases of data warehouse and DataMart development, implementation and support.
  • Establish data management methodology and standards for data modeling and data architecture.
  • Translate business requirements into an appropriate data model, develop ETLs, and validate results with business representatives including front office. Support implemented BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues. 



  • An undergraduate degree. A post-graduate degree in Data or Analytics would be viewed favorably.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in application development.
  • 6 or more years of experience with programming languages like Java or Python.
  • 3 or more years of experience with Hadoop, Hive, Nifi, Spark, Drill, Dremio, Presto or Impala.
  • 2 or more years of experience working on cloud services like Amazon S3, Azure Storage or hybrid cloud services like Hadoop Ozone.
  • Experience working with containers – Docker, Amazon EKS, Azure AKS or Kubernetes.
  • Certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Big Data or Microsoft Azure Architect.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in designing and developing business intelligence solutions using cloud infrastructure.
  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience working with Parquet, Avro or Orc file formats.
  • 2 or more years of experience with Tableau, Looker, Power BI or OBIEE.
  • 2 or more years of experience with tools like Sqoop, Flume, Airflow, Zookeeper, Oozie or Solr.
  • 2 or more years of hands-on experience in cloud products - Amazon EMR, AWS Redshift, AWS Athena, Azure HDInsight, BigQuery, BigTable, or Pub/Sub.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server.
  • ETL development experience (i.e. Talend, DataStage, SSIS, etc.).
  • Experience with unit test automation and unit test frameworks.
  • Real time data streaming experience using Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis or the like.
  • Experience with Snowflake or Zaloni.
  • Broad knowledge of Investment Management industry operations, and market data providers.
  • Responsive and proactive in answering questions.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Strong desire to learn and research new frameworks and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Understanding of continuous delivery and deployment patterns and tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, etc.).
  • Experience working with large scale Data Warehousing/Data Lake and performance tuning.
  • Solid technology background, including an understanding of applications used in financial services.
