WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
Direct and assist in the production of timely, accurate financial accounting reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and other supporting financial reports to both internal and external customers.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s general ledgers through management of the Financial Services accounting staff. This includes ensuring the financial structure within IRIUM is designed and maintained to meet the needs of the organization.
Lead procurement team to ensure all company procurement and J-SOX requirements are adhered to at all times.
Ensure the daily treasury management function is effective to meet the requirements of the organization and secure with adequate controls.
Ensure the process and controls for recording all liabilities in IRIUM are efficient and effective. This includes ensuring all disbursements are appropriate to both vendor and payment terms while maximizing available cash discounts.
Provide leadership and oversight to the monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, assuring that necessary reconciling adjustments are recorded timely.
Direct and assist in the production of timely and accurate reporting of the company’s inventory (equipment, parts, and WIP) to ensure optimal inventory management. This includes working with the parts team to identify aging or obsolete inventory. Additionally, this position is responsible for the taking of and accurately reconciling physical counts of inventories and other significant assets.
With the leadership and direction from the CFO, drive the completion of the Company’s annual operating plan and budget by department in the appropriate timeframe.
Assist in the preparation of periodic financial forecasts throughout the year.
Manage the annual audit process with external auditors.
Recommend, develop, and implement appropriate accounting policies and procedures as required. This includes developing, maintaining, and assessing appropriate prevention and detection controls to prevent or minimize fraud risk.
Assist and take responsibilities to other projects and duties as deemed appropriate by management.
Assist Product Support and Sales management as needed for accounting or analytical projects.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:
Four-year bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance or comparable educational background
5+ years of appropriate experience
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning environments
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to make rational decisions based on facts and experienced intuition
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
Must exhibit detail orientation and ability to execute and manage many priorities simultaneously
High level of motivation with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Products, primarily Excel and Access
