WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:
This position will be a part of the Cloud Engineering team and will provide cloud solutions support, design, and development for the company's Public Cloud.
This is a hands-on engineering and implementation role leveraging Google Cloud Platform and other cloud technologies across our enterprise.
This team bridges the gap between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration and engineering topics.
Products and/or services you may work with are but not limited to Google Cloud, Python, Git, Terraform, Splunk, and Linux.
Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.
Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.
Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
Collaborates with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.
Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.
Educates end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training materials and conducting demos.
Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
At least 3 years of experience as a Google Cloud engineer
3+ years of experience with AWS
Experience working with large financial firms preferred
Experience working with Linux and Windows Operating System
Demonstrated technical expertise in their field, including experience deploying one or more large-scale cloud-based systems.
Knowledge of current cloud architecture, best practices, tools, and frameworks as well as emerging technologies, trends, and processes
Automation experience that includes Python and some Infrastructure as Code languages
Experience using automation and CI/CD tools such as cloudforms, terraform, puppet, ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub, Git, Maven, Docker, etc.
Ability to communicate to a broad range of audiences.
AWS Professional Certification
Experience with other cloud providers such as MS Azure or Google Cloud
Experience working in an agile environment.
Real-world implementation experience of CI/CD, Automation, and cloud-native services
An understanding of ITIL practices and procedures as it relates to the cloud
