WHAT YOU WILL DO

Our client is seeking an innovative and passionate API Developer with background in financial domain (preferably - trading) having deep technical ability, communication, and collaboration skills. As an API Developer you will be responsible for designing and building Enterprise APIs to grow and support our client's digital footprint.

  • Work with stakeholders, technology team leadership and domain experts to analyze, design, build and implement API's needed within the organization.
  • Implement, document, and integrate a variety of software platforms primarily using REST APIs.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and enable us to deliver and improve on the product quickly.
  • Design, code, debug, document, and support computer applications and tools consistent with established specifications and business requirements
  • Write clean, reusable, scalable and secure code for deployment adhering to standard methodologies
  • Perform root cause analysis and helping solve technical issues
  • Work closely with Development Lead, Architects, Project Managers, Systems Analysts, and other members of the wider team to plan and develop the integration components
  • Breakdown and estimate technical tasks and recommend implementation approach for team; ensure stories contain the right balance of technical direction, standard methodologies, and level of detail

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

  • 3+ years previous Java development experience with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role
  • Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and support.
  • Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, Math or related engineering fields or equivalent practical experience

 

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of FIX standard Hands on experience with the following platforms strongly preferred
  • OpenShift/Kubernetes, Helm, Apigee, Terraform. Some experience working in cloud-based environments (AWS Lambda / API Gateway / Secret Manager/ Kinesis / CloudWatch etc. ) would be an advantage

Job Skills

 

  • Hands-on enterprise software development on multi-tiered systems using - Java, Spring Boot, REST / SOAP Web Services with JSON & XML, JPA
  • Experience with any of industry standard databases like Oracle ( preferred) , MS-SQL, MySQL
  • Spring Messaging using brokers like RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ
  • Knowledge of standard change management tools and processes, code branching/merging/commit strategies, feature branches, and trunk-based development using either Git / Bitbucket / Gitlab
  • Experience with testing /dev-ops tooling like - Jenkins, Splunk, AppDynamics, SonarQube, Checkmarx, NexusIQ, Maven, JUnit, Mocikto, Postman , SOAPUI, JIRA, Confluence
